Add New Equipment Type
Overview
This page is meant to provide an overview of adding equipment to a new LaundryCard store. This document is part of the installation instructions for new LaundryCard store startups.
General information
This step allows for the creation of new equipment types to be added. Only one equipment type is typically added per machine model. For example, if you have 10 Dexter brand 20-pound washers, you only need to enter their equipment type once. Repeat these steps for each type and model of the machines being added. Later on during the installation process, the specific readers will be assigned to one of these equipment types.
Do not enter pricing information at this time. This will be done later under Machine Pricing Configuration.
Adding new equipment types
You must click SAVE and NEXT after each Equipment Type has been entered or it will not save the machine setup previously entered.
Using a manager card access the System Setup page.
Then select the Card Reader Setup option.
Select Add New Equip Type.
On the Add New Equipment Type page, you will be presented with several fields to fill in.
Enter all the equipment types that are in the store including any vending and doors. You only need to enter the equipment once for each type of machine.
Click the Back button when finished entering all machines.
Fields | Descriptions |

Control | The Control type of the equipment you are installing (found in the appropriate reader installation guide). |
Equipment Name | Your desired name of the equipment. (Example: EH020 Washer). |
Equipment Type | The type of equipment you are installing. If an MLV control is chosen, the system will automatically fill this in. If a Single-Vend option is chosen, you will need to change the number to the correct one for the equipment type.

Free Dry Awards | This is the number of free dries a customer will receive from the washer if the option is requested by the owner. |
Vend Price $ | DO NOT ENTER THIS INFORMATION AT THIS TIME. THIS WILL BE DONE LATER UNDER MACHINE PRICING CONFIGURATION |
Bonus Allowed | If the owner is going to allow bonus money to be used to start the machine, this option should be checked. |
Discount Allowed | If the owner is going to allow discounts to be used to start the machine, this option should be checked. |
Start Hours | This is the hour start of when the machine will be usable |
End Hours | This is when the machine will be disabled. Usually, ½ hour before the store closes. |
Cycle Time (sec) | This is set if Single-Vend is chosen for the equipment type. This is the total cycle time of the machine that will lock out the reader during the cycle. |
Pulse Length (ms) | This is set if Single-Vend is chosen for the equipment type. This is the pulse rate and the reader installation guide should be consulted for the correct setting. |
Door Sensor | For single vend-only machines, when selected, the reader will check if there's a door sensor and will NOT allow a start if the door is open. |
