Opening the X-Changer Door

You'll need the keys and the crank to open the X-Changer door.

  1. Insert the small end of the crank into the opening on the top right side of the X-Changer.

  2. Rotate the crank in a circular motion from left to right to loosen the cabinet door.

  3. Gently pull the cabinet door open.

  1. Begin by opening the X-Changer cabinet to remove the old credit card swipe (if applicable).

  2. Remove the screws on the inside of the X-Changer holding the card swipe.

EMV Bezel Measurement and Drilling

(Cash only stores can skip this section and jump to Re-installation of door equipment)

CAUTION

This section requires drilling into the metal of the X-Changer. It also requires handling the fragile acrylic face plate for the X-Changer. As such, please make sure to use extreme caution to avoid any damage to the acrylic sheet. If you are uncomfortable drilling into the metal, please consult a professional. CCI is not responsible for any damage or breakage as a result.

  1. Gently slide in the new Acrylic into the channels.

  2. The acrylic must be all the way down into the bottom channel. If the acrylic is seated properly, ensure all openings are flush and correct.

  3. Reapply the top channel and secure with 2 nuts loosely to hold the acrylic to the door for the next step.

Measurements

  1. Place the clear acrylic panel with the markings into the square of the X-Changer panel in order to mark the holes for the new credit card bezel.

  2. Mark the holes needed to drill for the new credit card bezel.

  3. Remove the acrylic plate used to mark the drill holes for the credit card bezel.

  4. After all measurements are confirmed, remove the acrylic panel again and set aside for later installation.

  5. Using the drill bits provided, begin drilling the holes for the credit card bezel.

Triple check all measurements before proceeding!

Drilling

Apply masking tape over the length of the bottom channel to redirect the shavings produced by the drilling.

  1. Start by drilling the holes in the following sequence:

    • A -D (Using #18  drill-bits supplied) Also, pre-drill F with the #18 bit to make the hole easier to drill later with the larger 5/8" bit.

    • E (Using 5/16 drill-bit supplied)

    • F (Using 5/8 drill-bit supplied)

  2. Make sure to use a slow speed, apply pressure to the drill, and shave the hole. Do not force the bit at high speed. Cutting oil may be needed to ensure smooth drilling.

  3. When all holes are drilled, it should resemble the below.

  4. Note the hole sizes and be sure to drill the correct sizes.

  5. Important! Use a file or rasp to clean the outer and inner edges on each hole to remove any filings or spurs that may remain. This will avoid damage to the acrylic when reinstalling. 5. Using compressed air, blow out the bottom channel to clear out any metal shavings or debris.Installation of new acrylic.

  1. Slowly slide the new acrylic into the door channels. If needed, slightly bending the acrylic to insert into the side channels, then sliding down into the bottom channel can be used if the side channels are bent or distorted.

  2. Reconnect the channel frame holding the acrylic to the wall of the cabinet by adding the nuts back to the screws on the inside of the cabinet and tightening them.

  3. Reapply the rubber monitor gasket to the new acrylic.

The following sequence should be followed exactly for ease of installation.
