Coupon Program Setup
The Coupon program is designed to allow Store Owners to configure preset coupon codes for their customers to redeem. It also allows owners to mail out coupon codes that will encourage your customer to return. When a customer enters the code on the X-Changers, they are rewarded with the designated discount or monetary bonus. See Available Prizes and Coupons under Customer Card Functions for more information on how to redeem a coupon. Follow the below instructions to create a coupon.
Setting Up a Coupon
To access this function, your specific Card ID (The 12-digit number on the back of the card) must have COUPON PROGRAM SETUP selected under MARKETING in permission settings . Please see your store Owner/Manager to update your permission settings. See Permission Settings and Functions for more information on how to set permissions.
Select MARKETING from your main menu.
Select COUPON PROGRAM SETUP.
Enter the Coupon program details. A chart with the description of each field is below.
Once you have entered the details of the program, click Save.
The newly created coupon will show at the top of the list.
To clear the current program and add a new program click Add New Program button and begin entering the information for the next coupon.
Click Available Prizes and Coupons to see how a customer can redeem a coupon.
Coupon Program Fields and Descriptions
Fields | Description |

Program Name | Simple identifier, not used as coupon code |
Coupon Code | Enter the characters that customers will need to enter in order to redeem coupon |
Program Dates | The dates when this coupon will be valid for redemption |
Dollar Bonus | The coupon dollar amount awarded to customer |
Discount Percentage | The coupon discount percentage awarded to a customer |
Code Required | When checked, requires the customer to enter coupon code to receive promotion |
Apply to Existing Cards | When checked, applies the promotion to cards dispensed prior to the promotion's start date |
Apply to New Cards | When checked, applies the promotion to any new cards dispensed during the promotion's dates. |
Combine With Other Discounts | When checked, allows the coupon reward to be applied on the top of regular card discount. If not checked - MAX of two discount values will be used |
Only one coupon program can be active at a time
When a discount percent is awarded, it does not appear on the Card Details page.
For "Code Required" to apply, users MUST have Either or Both "Apply to Existing Cards" and/or "Apply to New Cards" Enabled for the "Enter Coupon" tab to become available when a customer inserts their card.
If "Code Required" is unchecked but either "Apply to Existing Cards" and/or "Apply to New Cards" is checked on, the coupon will apply automatically.
If you do NOT put your card into the X-Changer after the purchase, the 10% or ( whatever discount) is not applied until you do. You must put your card into the X-Changer for it to apply the discount. Even if the box for "Must Enter Code" is unchecked.
